Car T Cell Therapy For Lupus
CAR T cell therapy is an emerging area of research being explored as a
potential treatment approach for people living with lupus, particularly
those with severe or treatment-resistant disease.
This therapy works by modifying a patient’s own immune cells to target
and reduce the activity of B cells, which play a role in autoimmune
conditions like lupus. Early research has shown promising results in
small studies, including disease remission in some patients.
While CAR T cell therapy is still considered experimental for lupus and
is not widely available, ongoing research continues to evaluate its
safety, effectiveness, and long-term outcomes.
